Property Maintenance Code

The International Property Maintenance Code sets out minimum maintenance requirements for existing structures and surrounding property in Bowling Green. Property maintenance promotes safety and sanitation of:

  • Interior and Exterior of Structures
  • Surrounding Property
  • Light and Ventilation Units
  • Occupancy Levels and Use
  • Plumbing Fixtures
  • Mechanical and Electrical Wiring and Components
  • Means of Egress and Fire-Safety Mechanisms

2015 International Property Maintenance Code
Hard copy IPMC books can be found in the Bowling Green Clerk’s office or at City Hall Annex. You may also purchase the IPMC book as a personal reference.

Zoning Ordinance (Article 7)
Contains penalty and fine descriptions for property code violations, zoning violations, and acts of non-compliance for habitual violators.

Bowling Green City Ordinance (Chapter 27)
Governs maximum fines and hearing procedures for property code violations, compliance measures, rules for citation notices, and the standards enforced for specific violations.
