Whenever the code official finds any work regulated by this code being performed in a manner contrary to the provisions of this code or in a dangerous or unsafe manner, the code official is authorized to issue a stop work order. STOP WORK. Construction, addition, modification, renovation, etc. is taking place at this location without first having obtained required permits. ALL WORK MUST STOP at this location until all appropriate building, electrical, etc. permits are obtained through the city’s Building Division as required by code.

ALL WORK MUST STOP at this location until all appropriate building, electrical, etc. permits are obtained through the city’s Building Division as required by code.

Code Description:
Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be performed, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit. During a complaint based inspection, it was observed construction is taking place on the inside of a building. A STOP WORK order was previously issued to the business and property owner by Notice of Violation. Work has not stopped. ALL WORK MUST STOP until all required permits are issued to avoid issuance of additional fees/fines.
