Code Description:
Prohibited Signs: Signs located in any publically maintained right-of-way unless exempted in this paragraph or in subsection i below. The only signs allowed to be located in any publicly maintained right-of-way are those that are installed and maintained by the governmental unit or the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, WKU, etc., and through written agreement with the governmental unit. The primary focus of such signs will be for the safety of pedestrians and vehicular traffic. The governmental unit may also elect to install or allow the installation of signs for the purpose of community wayfinding, beautification, welcoming visitors and other public purposes. Any non-governmental unit signs placed on publicly maintained rights-of-ways will be removed and disposed of by a governmental unit and destroyed at their discretion. Advertising signs for the business at this location are being placed around the city in rights-of-way on an ongoing basis. This business was previously fined/cited twice for the same violations. The business owner was also told by phone that placement of such signs is prohibited and would result in additional fines/citations. Do not place signs off the premises of the business/in the right-of-way. This includes, but is not limited to: 150 Walton Avenue, 2425 Scottsville Road, 2625 Scottsville Road, 0 Campbell Lane.

Prohibited Signs: Off-premise advertising signs, except as specifically permitted by this Section are prohibited. Signage displayed on the premises of property that is being offered for sale advertising such property for sale shall not be considered off-premise advertising for the purposes of this section. Off-premise advertising signs for the business at this location are being placed around the city on an ongoing basis. Off-premise advertising is not permitted in the city. Please do not place signs off the premises of the business. Further violations of this ordinance will result in additional fines/citations for each sign placed off-premise.
