Still feeling inspired after celebrating the Downtown BGKY Ambassadors Academy capstone showcase! ? Last week, Western Kentucky University students wrapped up this 6-month journey by presenting creative ideas to help shape a more welcoming, vibrant Downtown for everyone. From new connections to fresh perspectives, this program continues to highlight what’s possible when our community comes together. A big thank you to the many partners who made this inaugural academy a success—we can’t wait to see what’s next with our second cohort this Fall! Some of the students’ ideas included: • Safety Sites hosted by Downtown businesses • An accessibility & sensory-friendly Downtown map • A Cultural Literacy toolkit highlighting international communities • A new BG history mural at The Fringe • A myBGKY app to connect people with local events • A Community Hands & Hearts mural celebrating Downtown businesses Which idea are you most excited to see come to life? ?
