Due to the timing of the incoming Winter Storm and expected snowfalls, the BGStrong Disaster Resource Center co-located with FEMA at the Greenwood Mall will not open to the public today, 01/06/2022. Limited number of workers will remain working in ways that do not require the public to travel.
While yesterday FEMA announced the closure of all Disaster Resource Centers across the state of KY due to the coming winter storm, this morning the BGStrong center that is co-located with FEMA at the Greenwood Mall announces that the local effort will not open to the public today, Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Many disaster response efforts remain ongoing in areas that do not require the public to travel during what is expected to be deteriorating road conditions throughout today.
Contracted debris removal and haul off will continue across Bowling Green and Warren County as long as it remains safe to do so. Routes to the debris management site have been pre-treated but are expected to remain manageable for a limited time today.
The www.wearebgstrong.com website is being updated multiple times a day, and the tornado hotline at 270-393-4116, email at firstname.lastname@example.org and other City and County services remain operational unless otherwise announced.
Please continue to monitor local media, weather, and social media for updates on the developments with this Winter Storm.
