The Bowling Green Fire Department would like to offer a few fire safety rules that should be observed around Halloween to keep everyone safe, especially children.

The Bowling Green Fire Department would like to remind you that Halloween is one of the worst days of the year for candle fires, so be especially careful when using candles. Consider using battery-powered lights to illuminate jack o’ lanterns. And keep the rest of your Halloween decorations away from heat sources. Don’t forget to take some extra precautions to protect your little trick-or-treater by making sure they are visible – use reflective tape, glow sticks and flashlights so they can be seen!
