When we change our clocks from daylight savings time to standard time on Sunday, November 3, that’s also a perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

When you change your clocks on Sunday, November 4, don't forget to change your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries as well. A properly installed and maintained smoke detector is designed to alert you and your family to a fire 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Remember also to check your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries at least once per month throughout the year to ensure they are working properly. Feel free to call the Bowling Green Fire Department at 270-393-3702 if you have questions about the placement of your smoke detectors.
