Summary: The City of Bowling Green’s annual Arbor Day celebration will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016. This event will take place at Kereiakes Park on Cemetery Road from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Arbor Day is FREE and open to the public.

Summary: Lehman Avenue will be closed to through traffic from US31W Bypass to Fairview Avenue for repaving on Thursday, April 14, 2016 All businesses will still be accessible. Delays should be expected and alternate routes are suggested.

Summary: Applications for the next grant cycle of the City of Bowling Green's Select Neighborhood Action Program (SNAP) are now available online on the City's website. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 15.

Summary: Elrod Road will have one lane closed at the Nashville Road intersection Thursday, March 17 through Friday, March 18, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for shoulder repair work. Signage and flaggers will be present. Please use caution.

Summary: Cemetery staff will be conducting their annual spring cleanup beginning March 21, 2016. The cleanup will include decorations, flowers, statuary, plaques, etc. that are on the ground; this includes items that will get in the way of mowers.

Main Avenue. The event will start with a light supper and networking at 6:00 p.m., with the program scheduled to begin at 6:30.

Summary: The City of Bowling Green launches its inaugural Academy for New Americans on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 9:00am at the Neighborhood and Community Services Department located at 707 East Main Avenue. City Manager Kevin DeFebbo will welcome Academy participants, sharing the vision and purpose for this project. A total of 17 applicants were selected to participate, representing eight different countries and speaking 12 different languages.

Summary: Applications are being accepted through Feb. 15 for the next Over 50 Citizen's Academy class, which will take place weekdays March 3-9, 2016. The academy does not meet over the weekend.

Summary: The 2016 Bowling Green Police Department Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is now accepting applications. This 11 week course begins March 3rd and provides an opportunity to learn first-hand about police operations.
