BGPR Holiday Hours

Summary: In observance of Independence Day, Bowling Green Parks and Recreation's Administrative Office will be closed on July 3rd. The Fitness Facility will be open during the holiday weekend with the following hours: July 3rd: 6am-5pm July 4th & July 5th: 10am-4pm

Adult Golf Lessons

Summary: Adult golf lessons will be offered on July 11th and July 25th for ages 16 years and older. There will be two sessions; the first session will be from 1-2 pm and will be taught in Spanish, while the second lesson is from 2-3 pm and will be taught in English.

New Russell Sims Aquatic Center Hours

City's Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program to Open Waiting List Next Week

Summary: Attention Low Income Families, Elderly & Disabled: The City of Bowling Green's (Section 8) Housing Choice Voucher Program will be issuing pre-applications on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 starting at 7:00 a.m. in the Housing Division office located in the lower floor of the Neighborhood & Community Services Building at 707 E. Main Avenue.

Pickens Amateur

Summary: The Pickens Amateur will be held on June 27th and June 28th at CrossWinds Golf Course with tee times starting at 7:00 am. The entry fee is $125 ($120 after June 22nd), which includes lunch on both days, two rounds of golf, a Pickens Amateur golf cap, and a sleeve of Titleist golf balls.

Spray Grounds at Circus Square Park

Summary: The spray grounds at Circus Square Park will be closed Monday, June 22nd and possibly Tuesday, June 23rd so that repairs can be made to the UV system.

51st Annual Boy's Junior Championships

Summary: The 51st Annual Boy's Junior Championships will be held on June 25th and June 26th at Paul Walker Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:00 am. There is a $5 entry fee per participant.

Summer Stroll in Northern Heights Parker Bennett Neighborhood Monday

Summary: The City of Bowling Green will continue its annual Summer Stroll series with a walk in the Northern Heights-Parker Bennett neighborhood on Monday night, June 15. Walkers will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Bennett Community Center at the corner of Scott and Jenkins Drive.

Inaugural Girl's Junior Championships

Summary: The Inaugural Girl's Junior Championships will be held on June 19, 2015 at Paul Walker Golf Course with a shotgun start of 8:00 am. This is a free event for girls ages 11-18 years old.

Open House Today to Outline Plans for Wakefield Pond

Summary: With the cooperation of the owners of the Wakefield pond, the City of Bowling Green is working on a project to permanently drain the Wakefield pond and convert it to a retention basin that would only collect and hold water during and after rains. Public Works will host a project open house today, June 9 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Covenant Ministries Church, located just down the street at 634 Wakefield.

Summer Tennis Camp

Summary: Tennis lessons are offered at Kereiakes Park through the months of June and July for both youth and adults. Camp sessions are two-weeks long, Monday thru Thursday. The cost is $50 per session (racquet additional $15).

Summer Strolls Kick Off Monday in Pine Grove

Summary: It's the 15th season of Summer Strolls, the City's series of neighborhood walks with elected officials, City staff and residents. The first one of the year kicks off Monday, June 1 at 6:00 p.m. in Pine Grove.

City of BG Public Works Department Receives APWA Re-Accreditation

City recognizes New American Citizens

Summary: The City of Bowling Green will host a reception on May 12 at 6:00pm at the Commission Chamber in Bowling Green City Hall to recognize those individuals who have recently become naturalized United States Citizens.

F.O. Moxley's Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Summary: F.O. Moxley Community Center will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration today, May 5th, from 4:00-5:30 pm. This is a free event for ages 5-13 years.

Parker-Bennett Community Center Community Yard Sale

Summary: Parker-Bennett Community Center will host a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, May 9th from 8am-12pm. The cost is $12 per table and registration for a table is required by May 7th.

Special Olympic Softball Coaches Needed

Summary: Special Populations is looking for people to volunteer as a coach for Special Olympic Softball. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Practices will be held Fridays from 5-7pm and Sundays from 4-6pm at Lampkin Park.

Youth Golf Academy

Summary: Youth Golf Academy will allow for interested youth ages 8-15 years to attend a weekly night of golf instruction and play. Classes will begin May 11 and continue thru August 10. Classes meet each Monday, weather permitting and excluding holidays.

Parks and Recreation to Accept Donation for West End Park

Summary: The City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will accept a donation in the amount of $11,000 from Independence Bank for assistance in the development of the West End Park.

New Application, Guidelines for SNAP Grant Program Now Available

Camp Good Times Registration

Summary: Parker-Bennett Community Center will begin accepting registrations for their summer camp, "Camp Good Times", on Monday, April 27th at 9 am. Space is limited to the first 75 PAID campers. A June and July session will be offered and are $25 each. Call (270) 393-3691 for more information.

May is Building Safety Month

Summary: The City of Bowling Green and the County of Warren will host a proclamation reading and signing in honor of Building Safety Month on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 9:00am at Neighborhood and Community Services Department, 707 East Main Avenue, Bowling Green.
