Summary: The City of Bowling Green is celebrating Energy Awareness Month by honoring the Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) Building with an ENERGY STAR award on October 18th at the 4:30 p.m. Board of Commissioners Meeting.

Summary: F.O. Moxley Community Center will host a Family Halloween Monster Bash Dance on Saturday, October 29 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Be sure to wear your favorite Halloween costume. We will be serving up tricks and treats. This event is free for all ages.

Summary: #BGGovToGo will join Parks and Recreation at their Pumpkin Palooza event at Circus Square on Friday evening, Oct. 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. BGFD will also set up their state-of-the-art Fire Safety Trailer.

Summary: The Bowling Green Fire Department will host its annual Firehouse Festival on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 5 - 7 pm at Home Depot on Gary Farms Boulevard.

Summary: The 2016 Veteran's Day Parade will be held on November 5, 2016 beginning at 10:00am. The parade will start at 6th and College near Circus Square Park. The parade is free and open to the public.

Summary: Modern Way will be closed to through traffic on Monday, October 3rd, 2016 through Tuesday October 4th. The closure will be due to drainage improvements. All properties will be accessible from either Nashville Road via Industrial Drive or from Dishman Lane.

Summary: This year's Coats for Kids event will take place from October 1st - December 1st. Gently used coats can be donated at the Bowling Green Police Department and many other locations.

Summary: Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) will host a candidates forum at the Sloan Convention Center tomorrow night, Sept. 27. The event begins with networking at 6:00 p.m., with the forum from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Summary: Registration for Youth Basketball Leagues will be held on October 5-6 and October 8 at Bowling Green Parks and Recreation, 225 E. Third Ave., Bowling Green, KY 42101. Registration will also be held October 8-9 at Dick's Sporting Goods, 2300 Gary Farms Blvd., Bowling Green, KY.

Summary: #BGGovToGo will be at West End Park at 517 W. Main Avenue tonight, September 16 for a free outdoor movie night hosted by Independence Bank. Fun and games will begin at 6:30, and the movie "Monsters University" will start at dusk.

Summary: The City of Bowling Green Public Works Department will be removing a dead tree at 933 Covington Street on Wednesday September 14, 2016 from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tree is a hazard to motorists and pedestrians.

Summary: The Longest Day of Golf will be held on Sunday, September 18. 18 holes will be played at Paul Walker Golf Course and will be followed by 9 holes at The Golf Course at RiverView in a 4-person scramble format. The team entry fee is $120.*

Summary: The City's International Communities Advisory Council will host a City Commissioner Candidates Forum on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6:00pm in the Commissioner Chamber of Bowling Green City Hall, with a focus on issues of importance to New Americans.

Summary: The Bowling Green Fire Department is now offering Heartsaver First aid/CPR/AED certification training for civilians. Classes are taught by certified American Heart Association instructors from the fire department.

Summary: Not old enough or big enough to play? This league is just for you. Youth ages 3-5 years old can learn the basic fundamentals of basketball and have fun playing weekly games against each other. Teams will fill up fast - 8 children per team. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited.

Summary: Due to a lopsided crown, thinning foliage and a significant lean towards College Street, a Red Oak Tree located in the utility strip near the corner of 10th and College Streets will be removed on Saturday, August 20th.

Summary: The City of Bowling Green received a complaint regarding the Bowling Green Fire Department in April of 2016. With this complaint, the City also received a video of a now former Bowling Green Firefighter burning the Quran.

Summary: The City of Bowling Green received a civil complaint filed by Jeff Queen, a former City firefighter, that alleges violations of federal and state laws related to religious harassment, discrimination based on race and national origin, sexual stereotyping, and alleges violations of the FMLA.
