The City of Bowling Green has installed the first of two new public bike repair stations to support cyclists and encourage active transportation throughout the community.
The City of Bowling Green has installed the first of two new public bike repair stations to support cyclists and encourage active transportation throughout the community.
The first station was installed on College Street near the bike lane in front of Spencer’s Coffee. The location was selected through a collaboration between the City’s Public Works Department and BikeWalkBG to ensure accessibility for downtown riders. The station was funded through the City’s greenway budget and features a black finish designed to complement the surrounding downtown aesthetic.
A second bike repair station will be installed in Weldon Peete Park in the coming weeks. This location was selected to better serve mountain bikers and trail users.
These stations provide cyclists with tools for basic repairs and adjustments and are part of the City’s continued efforts to improve bike-friendly infrastructure across Bowling Green.
