The City of Bowling Green has released its proposed FY2027 Budget in Brief ahead of upcoming Board of Commissioners budget discussions and votes.
The proposed budget reflects continued investment across the City’s seven Strategic Plan Pillars: Efficient Governance, Downtown Development, City Workforce Development, Transportation, Housing Development, Strong Neighborhoods, and Riverfront & Greenway Development.
The proposed FY2027 budget includes $110.2 million in the General Fund and $189.3 million across all funds.
Highlighted investments within the proposed budget include continued Riverfront Park and greenway development, roadway and sidewalk improvements, housing and neighborhood initiatives, downtown development projects, park upgrades, operational improvements and employee workforce support.
The Budget in Brief document is designed to provide residents with an accessible overview of the City’s proposed financial priorities, major projects and operational funding for the upcoming fiscal year.

In addition to the printed Budget in Brief document, the City will release a video budget presentation later this week that provides further explanation of the proposed budget, planned investments and departmental priorities.
The Board of Commissioners will continue budget discussions throughout the upcoming public meeting process.
