Cemeteries

The City of Bowling Green maintains four public cemeteries:  Fairview Cemeteries #1 and #2, Mt. Moriah Cemetery, and Pioneer Cemetery.  Cemetery visitation hours are from 7:00 a.m. until dusk.  Lots are still available for purchase in Fairview Cemetery #2.  To purchase a lot or to conduct historical research on lots in any of these cemeteries, contact the Cemetery Administrator’s Office.

As a citizen it is my responsibility to...

Abide by cemetery regulations.  Nothing is to be placed on the ground at City-maintained cemeteries from March 1 through November 1 with the exception of these special days:  Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and the birthday of the deceased.  Consult with cemetery staff regarding any grave improvements.

It is the responsibility of the city to...

Maintain 109 acres of cemetery grounds, coordinate opening and closing of graves, and provide for the perpetual care, upkeep and maintenance needs of the cemeteries.  During mowing season, cemeteries are mowed weekly.

If I am interested, who do I contact...
