Appliances
Appliances, refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, and other similar large appliances may be picked up by your solid waste hauler. Contact your waste hauler to find out for sure.
As a citizen it is my responsibility to...
If an appliance contains freon (air conditioner, refrigerator) or another potentially hazardous material, residents should check with their solid waste hauler (usually Scott Waste Services) to see if their appliance requires evacuation by a private contractor. These contractors may be located in the Yellow Pages under Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Heating & Cooling Specialists, Used Appliances, and so on. Most appliances may be placed at the curb for pick-up by the solid waste hauler, but residents should take care to insure that refrigerators and freezers are placed with the doors removed or the doors secured in such a way that children and small animals cannot play or become trapped inside them. Citizens should contact their solid waste hauler to notify them that the appliance will need to be picked up.
It is the responsibility of the city to...
