Pet owners must vaccinate against rabies and register every dog, cat or ferret 3 months of age and over.  Every dog or cat should wear a rabies tag and license tag on their collar. A ferret's rabies tag may be secured to their cage or enclosure or affixed to a collar.

Rabies tags and vaccinations are available at veterinary offices. Tagged animals receive immediate veterinary care if injured or sick, and owners are notified of their pets whereabouts by phone and/or mail.
