Work Zones

Many routine street maintenance activities, including mowing in the spring and summer and loose leaf pickup in the fall, are performed by Public Works Operations according to work zones.  Maps of the zones are included in the appendix to this guide.  Neighborhoods included in the zones are as follows:

ZONE 1:     

• From Natcher Parkway to Old Morgantown Rd.
• Between Morgantown Rd. & Russellville Rd. (University Blvd.) 
• Includes:  Springhill, Whispering Hills, Creekwood, Deer Park, Thames Valley

ZONE 2:

• From McClellan Rd. to East 13th
• Between Russellville Rd & Nashville Rd
• Includes:  Near South Industrial Park, Greystone, Crestmoor, Cedar Ridge, Normal Drive Near WKU Campus

ZONE 3:

• From Highland Drive to Broadway
• Between Nashville Rd. (Chestnut St.) & Smallhouse
• Includes:  Near T.C. Cherry Elementary, Glendale, Indianola, Ogden Park & Cabell Drive,           Ridgecrest, Quail Run

ZONE 4:     

• From Elrod Rd. to Highland Way
• Between Smallhouse Rd. & Nashville Rd.
• Includes:  Shawnee, Hunting Creek, Pine Grove, South Meade, Cave Mill

ZONE 5:

• From Smallhouse Rd. to Greenwood Lane
• From Lehman Ave. to Campbell Ln.
• Includes:  Hartland, Eastland Park, Crossridge, Chenoweth, Bent Tree, Nutterville

ZONE 6:

From E. 13th to 1st Street (31W By-Pass)

Between Adams St. & Covington

Includes: The District (Downtown), Reservoir Hill, Near the Medical Center

ZONE 7:

• From Lehman Avenue to Cemetery Rd.
• Between 31W By-Pass & Steeplechase
• Includes: Briarwood, Near Potter Gray School, Eastwood, Steeplechase

ZONE 8:

• From Cemetery Rd. to the Barren River
• Between 1st St. (31W By-Pass) to McFadin St.
• Includes:  McFadin Station, Near Riverside Shopping Center, Winfield Acres, Indian Hills, Mt. Ayr

ZONE 9:

• From Brownslock Rd. to Riverview
• Between Power St. & Clay St.
• Includes:  Double Springs, Hobson Grove, St. Joseph, Boatlanding

ZONE 10:

• From Old Morgantown Rd. to Brownslock Rd.
• Between Adams St. & Hammond Circle
• Includes:  Glen Lily, Forest Park, Woodford St., Behind Lampkin Park
