Student Solutions is a youth empowerment program that brings students together to help develop solutions to real City problems. Each high school in the Bowling Green and Warren County districts will be invited to select a group of six to 10 students to work as a team while attempting to solve a specific City problem.
Several City departments will work together to generate a list of current perplexing issues that they are struggling to resolve. The Student Solution teams will then be provided with one problem at random from the list and come up with a solution that will be presented to the Board of Commissioners.
Each team will need at least one faculty advisor from their school to assist them with this project. The City will then provide each team with the department head or appropriate employee from the area in which their problem was generated. That person will aid with technical assistance.
The unveiling of the solutions will be in the form of a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation that is presented to the City of Bowling Green Board of Commissioners, City Manager and Department Heads.
The City of Bowling Green then pledges to utilize any viable solutions produced by the students of the Bowling Green/Warren County area.
