Tour Information
Visitors to Riverview at Hobson Grove are able to tour the two main floors of the home and to climb into the cupola overlooking the park. The basement level is open to the public and houses the meeting and office areas along with the Museum shop. Please be aware that the tour includes three sets of interior staircases along with the set of exterior stairs to enter into the house. Visitors are welcome to bring a camera and/or video camera for photos of the exterior, but please note that photography and video recording are not permitted in the house. Tours begin at Riverview's front door.
Riverview is open for touring February 1 through late December annually, although pre-arranged tours-by-appointment and group tours can still be scheduled. Touring hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. The last tour of each day begins at 3:15 p.m. Note that Bowling Green is in the Central Time Zone. Ample parking is available for cars and buses. The museum is closed on major holidays. Group rates are available for groups of ten or more with reservations. Special hours are available for groups – simply call our staff who will be delighted to help you plan your visit.
Ample free parking is available directly beside the house in one of Hobson Grove Park's lots. Unfortunately, due to the nature as an historic structure, the tour of the historic house is not wheelchair or scooter accessible. Other arrangements for individuals with or without disabilities who would prefer to experience the house are available. Chairs are available in the basement for those who may have difficulty standing for extended periods of time. A photo book and a short video are also available to view in the basement. Written texts can be provided for the hearing impaired. Assistance animals are welcome. Audio and printed translations of the tour are available in Spanish and Japanese. Riverview welcomes foreign language interpreters.
Special fees may apply to teas, luncheons, lectures, and other events. Please call Riverview to check dates and fees, and also to make reservations.
