Civil War Discovery Trail Audio Tour and Letterbox Hunt
The Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has created a letterbox hunt that coordinates with the Civil War Discovery Trail. Forms can be found at the Visitors Center or at the following link. In this treasure hunt, follow clues to find the various letterboxes throughout Warren County. When you find a letterbox, take the stamp and inkpad from inside to stamp your Civil War Discovery Trail form and your own logbook, if you have one. Please sign the notebook inside the letterbox with your nickname, where you are from, and add your own stamp, if you have one. Always remember to return the letterbox secure and where you found it. Visitors can redeem the completed Trail form at the Visitor's Bureau Gift Shop at 352 Three Springs Road for either a Cannonball Puzzle or Rifle Pen. Field Trips and Seminars
Visitors of all ages are welcome to come and learn more about Riverview and its place in the history of Warren County. A variety of community outreach programming including lectures, seminars, and hands on workshops are available at Riverview or can be presented by our traveling education docent. Topics have included gardening, historic craftwork, collections, Victorian clothing, local Civil War history, and other subjects. Contact Riverview at (270) 843-5565 for these topics or create your own workshop for your group. Goodie bags can be purchased which may include a postcard, Riverview magnet, small Kentucky flag, small toy, or other appropriate items for your group by special arrangement before your visit.
Geocaching
Visitors to Riverview at Hobson Grove can participate in this high tech treasure hunt by locating the caches hidden in Hobson Grove Park. By using your own GPS units you can wander around the house, golf course, and throughout the park to find the hidden cache. You can find the coordinates at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/default.aspx to start your hunt. Enjoy the features of Hobson Grove Park as you wander the 222 acres after entering in the coordinates you have chosen. Find both the caches in the park while noting the plants and wildlife in the area near Barren River. One of the caches is virtual. Once you have found a cache, please include a remembrance of yourself or take something that was left by someone else. Please share your experiences. Sign the logbook with your name, the date, and a few words about your experience and online in the logbook at www.geocaching.com. Always remember to return the cache secure and where you found it. You can also share any of your thoughts and photos at our Facebook page or you can email them to us.

Greenways Trail and Tour
The brochure, A Tour of Historic Bowling Green Along the Greenways, details the twenty-three interpretive markers and their locations along the greenways path throughout Bowling Green. The brochure can be found at various visitor centers in the Bowling Green area. The tour encourages walkers, runners, and bikers to tour Bowling Green on these greenways and bicycle paths and see the interpretive markers that highlight significant historic, cultural, and natural sites in the Bowling Green area. Riverview at Hobson Grove is number 19 on the brochure's map. Scout and School Programs

Timeless Manners for Children
The Timeless Manners Committee conducts a four week Timeless Manners class for second, third, and fourth grade children on Sunday afternoons during mid-January through February. Participants will learn about basic etiquette including introductions, table setting, dining etiquette, telephone etiquette, the importance of thank-you notes, and more. The classes will culminate with a special meal where the participants will be able to practice all they have learned.
Waymarking
Another way to find unique locations and to learn about your surroundings is Waymarking. A waymark is a physical location that can be shared with others by using a GPS receiver and a digital camera and entering the information online. Waymarking does not have a physical container to log information. Instead, waymarking identifies points of interest, historical and cultural facts, and other identifying traits of a specific location by grouping sites into categories or themes. Riverview at Hobson Grove and the surrounding area have many waymarks that can be found and add to your knowledge of local history. Waymarks are listed at www.waymarking.com where you can find unique locations, add your own thoughts about places you have found, and even add your own waymarks.
Museum Manners
To ensure the safety and good stewardship of the museum collection, eating, drinking, and chewing gum are prohibited in the private areas of the museum. Photography and writing instruments are not allowed upstairs in the house. Touching objects and sitting on furniture are against museum policy. Visitors are required to stay with museum docents at all times in the private areas of the museum.
