OVER FIFTY RESIDENTS SOUGHT FOR OVER FIFTY CITIZEN'S ACADEMY IN MARCH
The City of Bowling Green is seeking participants for its second Over 50 Citizen's Academy, a week of insight into Bowling Green's City government and exploration of livable communities. Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at the City's budget and department operations, along with an introduction to many community resources available to people over age 50. The Academy will be held Thursday, March 20 through Wednesday, March 26, with a break over the weekend. Applications are due March 1. BGCAN WINTER RALLY OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS SET FOR FEBRUARY 10
Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) will host its Winter Rally of the Neighborhoods on Monday night, February 10 at BG Parks & Recreation's Large Community Room, 225 East 3rd Avenue. Soup and sandwiches will be served at 6:00 p.m., with program scheduled to begin at 6:30. Attendees will hear about the "Map Your Neighborhood" initiative and learn more about the City of Bowling Green's New Sidewalk Program.

COMMENTS ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PLAN SOUGHT THROUGH FEBRUARY 12
The City of Bowling Green Neighborhood & Community Services Department is receiving public comments on its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Comprehensive Plan through February 12. BGCAN'S WEBSITE FOR NEIGHBORHOODS OFFERS ONLINE MESSAGE FORUMS, PLACE TO ARCHIVE NEIGHBORHOOD DOCUMENTS ONLINE
The Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) website features message boards (forums) and a Projects/Issues pages detailing upcoming projects or concerns based on geography. Check it out today at www.bgcan.org . Users can post documents, including by-laws, restrictive covenants, maps, photos, and so on to the page. The page also features articles from national publications that may be of interest to neighbors across the country. If your group would like to have its own forum on the page, please contact karen.foley@bgky.org

CITY OF BOWLING GREEN MOBILE APP AND TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE AVAILABLE
Instant access to City services is now available through a new Bowling Green mobile application. Residents can download the app by searching "bowlinggreen"? on their Apple or Android device. The City of Bowling Green mobile app promotes on-the-go access to City services, maps, alerts, special event information, social media and more. The City of Bowling Green also offers a text messaging service to residents who want to receive text messages about various City services. Text the words "join golf" to the number 270-681-3828 and receive messages about daily golf specials at the City's golf courses and pro shop, or text "join info" to get text message updates on general information. If you'd just like info on Bowling Green neighborhoods, then text "join bgcan" to the same number.

While you're at it, take time to Register Your Neighborhood and verify contact information for your group, as well as streets included in your boundaries.
