Veterans Day Parade Plans Include Grand Marshal

VETERANS DAY PARADE PLANS INCLUDE GRAND MARSHAL Military Families of the 149th Bravo Company, Brigade Support Battalion
Bowling Green, KYThe Bowling Green-Warren County Military Liaison Board announces that they will be honoring the Military Families and the Troops of the 149th Bravo Company, Brigade Support Battalion at the Kentucky National Guard Armory as the GRAND MARSHAL during the Annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Bowling Green.
The Veterans Day Parade will take place Saturday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to feature more than 300 units honoring our past, present and future troops and their families.
November 10 Veterans Day Parade events are scheduled as follows:
Parade starts at 6th & College Street (near Circus Square) at 10:00 a.m. and ends near Circus Square at 6th & State Street. From College Street, the route will turn left onto 10th Avenue, left onto State Street, and ending at 6th & State Street.
Flag-raising ceremony: Remarks from Lt. Col. Richard Palmer, on behalf of the military families. The student that won the essay contest will read his essay on "Why Should We Support Our Military Families?, and remarks from Judge Executive Buchanon and Mayor Wilkerson will immediately follow at Warren County Courthouse Veterans Memorial Courtyard, 429 E. 10th Avenue.
The Veterans Parade student essay winner will be awarded $100 from the American Legion and VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. Student essays were solicited from all public elementary and middle schools in Bowling Green and Warren County.
Other parade entries will include "Vets in Vettes by the National Corvette Museum, the Bowling Green-Warren County All-Star Band featuring members of all local high schools, WKU's Big Red and Sparky the Fire Dog.
The Veterans Day Parade will be replayed on Insight Channel 4 at the following times:
