REGISTER AN OCTOBER NEIGHBORHOOD EVENT AND GET A FREE EVENT KIT

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The City of Bowling Green Neighborhood & Community Services Department is again offering free event kits to neighborhood organizations and others who register a neighborhood social event to be held in October as part of Bowling Green's "Celebrate Safe Communities" Month. This offer is available to neighborhoods located within the city limits of Bowling Green, while supplies last. Event kits include balloons, child ID kits, Safer Senior kits, a VISA gift card and crime prevention and fire safety materials.

The deadline to register an event is September 17, but potential hosts are encouraged to register early, while supplies last. Check out this website for links to local Celebrate Safe Communities information and registration forms: http://www.bgky.org/police/watch.php Also, for the first time this year, hosts can register their event online.

Celebrate Safe Communities is brought to you by the National Crime Prevention Council and the Bureau of Justice Assistance at the U.S. Department of Justice. It was developed in 2008 in partnership with the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) to promote crime prevention in local communities across the country. Locally, Bowling Green's Celebrate Safe Communities Month is coordinated by Neighborhood Services with participation by Bowling Green Police, Fire, and Parks & Recreation Departments. Last year, thirteen neighborhood events were planned in neighborhoods across Bowling Green.

A CSC event can be anything large or small, such as a neighborhood block party or potluck, a community safety fair, or bike rodeo. In four years, CSC has reached 500,000 Americans of all ages in 39 states and Washington, DC. Join the movement to create communities where everyone works together for public safety.
