Volunteer Job Description

Volunteer Position Title:
Communications Aide - Dispatch

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Communications Center Dispatchers by checking names for active paperwork on warrant and domestic violence lists, making phone calls, making copies, making entries on logs for arrests and wreckers, delivering paperwork within the Police building, and other misc. clerical duties as requested.

Special Requirements of Volunteer(s):
Must maintain confidentiality. Ability to work in team environment and very closely with Dispatchers. Ability and willingness to follow directions and work quickly and calmly in stressful situations. Spelling proficiency for names also needed.

Outcome/Goals:
Less stress and work load on dispatchers who are performing multiple tasks, assistance in checking multiple names and lists will increase officer safety by providing more timely information.

2 to 4 hour shifts preferably evening or night time hours (esp Fri and Sat) between 1800-midnight.
