Old Morgantown Road Revitalization Project
Status as of October 27, 2011
Scott & Ritter, Inc. has reached substantial completion. All utility work, storm sewer installation, and paving has been completed. Currently the contractor is installing roadway striping and signage along the corridor. Also, mailboxes are being replaced where necessary along the project. Additional work items that remain are seeding and sod placement at various locations along the roadway as well as concrete repairs as required, primarily at drive entrances. Finally, overall cleanup along the roadway will take place once all work has been completed.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd in front of Dishman-McGinnis School at 503 Old Morgantown Road to highlight the project and thank all those involved. Residents, business owners and the general public are encouraged to attend.
Even though construction activities are coming to an end, please continue to drive with caution and obey all signage while traveling through Old Morgantown Road in order to provide a safe environment for construction crews, pedestrians and other motorists.
We continue our efforts toward the goal of an aesthetically and functionally improved, pedestrian friendly corridor. We are striving to minimize inconvenience to residents and property owners. Please continue to visit this project web page for periodic updates.
