Housing Assistance
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program is a federally funded program administered within the City Limits of Bowling Green. The primary goal of Section 8 is rental assistance to persons of very low income, allowing them to rent existing market housing that is decent, safe, and sanitary. The program follows federal regulations as well as local policy. Individual subsidy is calculated using household income and the Fair Market Rent standards published by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher program is currently closed, and no new applications will be accepted until further notice. When the waiting list is re-opened and new applications accepted again, we will use local media, notices to other local service agencies, and this website to notify the public.
