SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD
DEADLINE: Open throughout year
Duties Of Position: School Crossing Guards direct pedestrian crossings and traffic flow, ensuring the safety of children and remaining alert to traffic hazards. Requires punctuality and remaining at work location until conclusion of assignment. Employee also assists with directing traffic at parades and other events each year.
Job Requirements: Requires ability to work out-of-doors in inclement weather and ability to perform essential physical duties of position. High school diploma (or GED) required, with two to four months of public relations and traffic control experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess a valid Kentucky driverâ€™s license and a good police record.
Starting Salary: Pay Grade 73, starts at $8.82/hour plus sick leaveWork Hours: Ten hours per week during the school term. Crossing Guards typically work one hour before and after school. Employees will work the schedule for the school at which they are assigned.
