Duties Of Position: Patrol parks and recreation facilities by vehicle and on foot, open and lock gates, check door locks, monitor participants, escort participants to and from vehicles as requested, inspect facilities during and after usage hours, ensure that rules and regulations are followed, perform periodic checks of playground and other park equipment, handle complaints from participants and visitors, take appropriate action for offenders, deter inappropriate conduct and contact Police if needed, report criminal activity to Police, collect monies and secures in vault.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; work in customer service; experience in security work desirable. Ability to work on oneâ€™s own, show initiative to complete duties and maintain daily work schedule; ability to handle and take control of tense situations that require calming participants or offenders, and removing disruptive policy violators from public facilities. Must possess valid Kentucky driverâ€™s license and good driving record. Certification in CPR and First Aid required upon employment.
Starting Salary: $12.79/hr (FY14) Position is subject to random drug testing.Work Hours: 18-20 hours per week. Schedules will vary, partly depending on the employeeâ€™s availability. Summer months include day hours at water park; generally remaining hours are afternoons until late night; and weekends afternoon until 8:00 p.m. Several employees help cover the various duties and schedules. Park Patrols: Nightly 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Water Park: Late May through early September (weekends from mid-August on) open 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (open at 1:00 on Sundays). Recreation Centers: Weekdays 4:00 â€“ 10:00/11:00 p.m. all year except summer. Weekends March-November from 11:00/1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday hours 5:00 â€“ 8:00 p.m. rest of year; Sunday hours rest of year 1:00/2:00 to 8:00 p.m. except 5:00 â€“ 8:00 p.m. late May to early August.
