First Responder Program
Bowling Green Fire Department Goes First Responder
On July 1, 1998, the Bowling Green Fire Department started its First Responder program. The program is a Tiered Medical Response agreement with the Medical Center of Bowling Green, Department of Emergency Services. The goal of the Fire Department is to provide Basic Life Support to the citizens of Bowling Green in support of the Advanced Care given by EMS, when we can arrive at the scene before the EMS service. We will be responding to the following types of calls: |
| (A) Vehicle accidents with injury; (B) Coronary complaints or possible cardiac arrest; (C) Unconscious or unresponsive patients; (D) Difficulty breathing or choking; (E) Drowning or water related accidents; (F) Falls from 10 feet or higher; (G) Trapped persons; and, (H) Severe bleeding or trauma. |
