Boundaries:his area is bordered by the Barren River to the north, Covington Street to the east, E 14th Street to the south and Old Barren River Road to the east.

Demographics: The area is largely commercial business in nature with residential areas included. The area includes a downtown district with 100 year old mercantile structures and numerous large residences that were originally constructed as single family units but have been renovated to existing multi family occupancies.

Fire Risk:The typical fire risk is a 3,000 sq. ft. wood frame residential structure built in the late 1800s to early 1900s, many have undergone extensive renovation and currently serve as multifamily residences.

Non-Fire Risk: The non-fire risk for this zone is predominately emergency medical calls at 38% of the call volume for this zone.

Incident History:Three years of response data indicates the call volume to this zone is 2566 of 8,377 incidents representing approximately 30% of the total call volume. Of the 2566 incidents, 38% were emergency medical calls, 15% were fire incidents and 55% were other calls including fire alarms, service calls and rescue calls.

Water Supply:Water for fire suppression is provided with municipal fire hydrants located approximately 500 feet apart.
