Crime Stoppers offers these tip for protecting your wallet and purse:
- Women should always keep their purses with them. Never set them down and leave them unattended, and always keep them closed.
- Keep a photocopy of all the things that are kept in the wallet. Keep that in a safe place in the home, as well as a place that can easily be accessed.
- If you are not going to use some of your credit cards, don't bring them along. Bring only the ones that you plan to use.
- Immediately report a theft or loss to police.
