Dr. Brian Strow will begin the 2007-2008 academic year as an associate professor of economics at Western Kentucky University. He was first elected to the Bowling Green City Commission in 2004. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from Vanderbilt University and his B.A. from Wheaton College (IL). Brian is married to Dr. Claudia Strow, an assistant professor of economics at WKU. Together they have three children, Tucker (2002), Colette (2005), and Oliver (2007).
Dr. Strow served as the
2005-2006 president of the Kentucky Economic Association. He was awarded the 2004-2005 Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2005-2006 Outstanding Public Service Award from the Gordon Ford College of Business at WKU. Brian is an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church and is an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox.
Work History: Paperboy, farmhand, projectionist, janitor, snow crew worker, phone-a-thon caller, accounts manager, Congressional intern, teaching assistant, budget analyst (US Department of Labor), and assistant professor of economics.
