Trash & Yard Waste Collection
Scott Waste Services provides garbage and yard waste collection under contract with Warren County for service to all residential accounts in the City. In residential areas, this service includes “back door pickup,” which means residents need not tote their trash to the curb for pickup. If you have not taken advantage of the back door service and would like to start, contact Scott Waste Services to notify them of the accessible location where their staff can retrieve your containers for pickup.
As a citizen it is my responsibility to...
Contact Scott Waste Services to report a missed pickup or for information about collection requirements and schedules. Give the location of missed pickup (curb/alley), address and type of material (yard waste or garbage) that was not collected. Residents are required to properly contain and/or cut and bundle materials to be collected. All household trash should be placed in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
Residents should comply with all collection guidelines for household waste, yard debris and brush pickup, and bulk items. Residents should call their service provider to request pickup of yard waste and/or bulky items such as appliances, furniture, etc.
Residents of rental properties should contact their landlord to determine if the landlord or tenant is responsible for obtaining garbage service at their residence. If the landlord has obtained service for the rental unit, the tenant should obtain contact information for the correct garbage service provider. Tires, hazardous household materials and large quantities of building materials are not collected by most solid waste contractors.
Yard waste including brush, tree limbs and clippings must be separated from all other solid waste and must be placed at the curb for collection. Qualifying yard waste must also meet the following conditions: Yard waste must be clearly identifiable by storing in clear plastic bags or double-thick brown paper bags. Brush, limbs and other wood waste must not exceed five feet in length and no more than 6-inches in diameter and must be bundled for collection using grass or cotton strings. Yard waste and bulk waste not meeting collection standards may be left with an explanation of why the waste was not collected.

Pickups of yard waste and bulk items are generally NOT made at the same time as regular pickups, but are provided by request. Missed pickups are generally collected within 24 hours of notification. Contracted hauler will pick up waste at a regular designated site (at curbside or alley on a weekly basis).
