Other recognized nominees for the year were: Karen Foley, Citizen Information & Assistance; Beverly Pennington, Roxie Ross and Mary Wininger, Police; and a team of employees who responded to the Bowling Green Estates condemnation, Alex Colovos, Corby Lambert, Donnie Thompson, and Vallory Schocke of HCD, and Ray Cowles, Fire (retired).
Fellow employees or citizens nominate employees for having demonstrated excellent service to their customers. Nominations were received and reviewed by an employee committee based on several “STAR” criteria, including having a helpful attitude and compassion, flexibility, creativity, showing respect to all, taking ownership of the customer’s problem, and being a dependable team player.
Nominees received a lapel pin with the STAR award design, and an “I’m a Rising Star” card to display in their work area. Brent received an engraved trophy and his name has been added to the STAR plaque that hangs in the City Hall lobby.
