Director J. Michael Grubbs
Key Responsibilities - Department Director, Convention Center CEO, Spotlight on Bowling Green.

The Director is responsible for overall coordination of the CIA Department and accomplishment of annual goals; serves as executive director for Spotlight on Bowling Green program production; serves as CEO of The Convention Center Corporation and the City's liaison with management of the Sloan Convention Center; serves as a member of the City's budget team, primarily in development of the capital budget; and performs other duties assigned by the City Manager.

City Central
Key Responsibilities - Citizen Requests, Code Enforcement Board, Parade and Special Events, Street Lighting, and Coordinates The use of Fountain Square and Riverwalk Parks.

City Central functions as the direct link between the citizens of Bowling Green and the various City departments. Requests for Services are received from citizens and forwarded to the appropriate departments. This office also handles reservations for Fountain Square and RiverWalk Parks and requests for general information about City services.

Convention Center
The Sloan Convention Center has 35,500 square feet of meeting and pre-convention exhibit space. The 19,500 sf grand ballroom has a reception capacity of 1,500 and can be divided into four smaller ballrooms. There are also six breakout rooms ranging from 350 to 2,600 square feet. The convention center connects to the adjacent Holiday Inn University Plaza hotel . The six story atrium hotel has 218 rooms, including several suites. The hotel has three salons totalling 4,000 sf.

Neighborhood Action
Key Responsibilities - Neighborhood Watch, Neighborhood Organizations, Summer Strolls, National Night Out, Neighborhood (SNAP) Grants

Neighborhood Action works closely with all City departments to help deliver City services to citizens and neighborhoods via neighborhood groups.  It also helps organize new groups and provides technical support and training to neighborhood organizations.

Public Information
Key Responsibilities - Advertisements, Brochures, News Releases, School Programs, and Web Site Development.

Public Information uses multiple methods and media types to inform the public of city services, programs, events and activities. The Public Information division is also responsible for the employee Intranet and newsletter.
