Technology has become a large part of the world we live in. As technologies grow and change, the City of Bowling Green works hard to keep up with the trends. Recently, the Systems Analyst for the City has rolled out a new look to the website with a more user friendly interface. This site is currently available for beta testing at https://beta.bgky.org. We hope that you take the time to check out our new look and let us know what you think.

When logging on and checking out the new version of www.bkgy.org, one big change you will notice is that the website will be easily accessible from mobile devices, tablets or your desk top. Recent studies show that almost 40% of the traffic that bgky.org sees is from a mobile device and that number is only expected to increase. The look will vary slightly depending on the device but the information should be easy to read and to access.

Additionally, our updated sight offers a redesigned events calendar for citizens to find out what is going on in town from Parks and Recreation Events to Board of Commissioners Meetings and everything in between. Better inclusion of the international community will also be a new focus of our site. Although we have offered translations of web content in both Spanish and Croatian in the past, we will now be able to translate our content into more than 70 different languages.

We hope that when you are using the new site you find a more consistent experience with similar design patterns. These changes should help you become familiar with our site, our departments and our services.

If you have questions about our changes or want to provide feedback, please call 270-393-3642. In addition, there is a “feedback” tab on the right side of our beta page where viewers can answer a short survey to provide us with insight about the new sight and its design.
