Are you looking for a fun and physical activity for you or your kids this summer? If so, the City of Bowling Green 2014 Summer Tennis Camp is for you. This two-week fun camp is designed to introduce the game of tennis to kids and adults.
To make scheduling easier, camps are offered during both the morning and evening hours for youth and at multiple dates throughout the summer. Classes take place Monday through Thursday and are offered as follows:
June 2 – 13 (Ages 6 -11) at 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. or 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
June 16 – 27 (Ages 6 -11) at 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. or 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
July 7 – 18 (Ages 12 – 16) at 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. or 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
July 21 – August 1 (Ages 6 -11) at 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. or 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
All classes take place at Kereiakes Park tennis courts 9 and 10 and the cost is $50 per two-week session. Bring your own racquet or purchase one from Parks and Recreation for $15 and remember to mark any equipment with identifying signs. Balls will be provided. The focus of the camp will be on the basics of tennis play with fast paced interactive games integrated into instruction.
Participants are encouraged to wear loose comfortable clothing conductive to athletic activity, sunblock and/or a hat as there is not shade on the courts. Remember to bring water as hydrating is essential during all physical activities.
Adult classes are offered for the same cost on the same dates but the time slot will be from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
Classes that are rained out throughout the week will be made up on Fridays. If you would like more information about these classes or if you would like to register, call 270-393-3249 or visit http://www.bgky.org/bgpr/athletics/tennis.php.
