Senior Programs:
The Special Populations program provides various activities for Senior Citizens.
We are always looking for new program ideas. If you are a Senior Citizen
and would like a listing of our programs or if you have some program ideas,
please give us a call. We would love to talk with you.
The following programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals with a mental and/or physical challenge:
Area 5 Special Olympics:
Area 5 Special Olympics is a twenty-county region surrounding Bowling Green.
Area 5 Special Olympics is dedicated to providing the following quality
events: Area 5 Bowling Tournament, Special Olympics Kentucky Regional Softball
Tournament, Special Olympics Kentucky Regional Basketball Tournament, Area
5 Power lifting Tournament, and Area 5 Spring Games. Any person who wishes
to volunteer or with a mental challenge that wishes to participate in Special
Olympics should contact Special Populations for more information. Volunteers are
always needed. For more information on Special Olympics, visit their website

Bowling Green Adult Athletic
Club:
The B.G.A.A.C. is for any person with a mental challenge. The club competes
and trains for the following Special Olympic Events: Area 5 Bowling, State
Bowling, Unified Bowling, Area 5 Spring Games, State Summer Games, State
Power lifting Tournament, State Softball Tournament, and State Basketball/Cheerleading
Competition. A monthly newsletter is printed to inform athletes and volunteers
about upcoming events. Social activities include: picnics, dances, field
trips, movies, etc. Persons with a mental challenge or persons that have
an interest in volunteering should contact Special Populations for more information.
Volunteers Needed:
The Special Populations program is always in need of volunteers. Volunteer
opportunities exist through our many programs and special events. If you
or your group would like to make a difference in our community, then please
contact Special Populations.
