The City of Bowling Green Fountain Square Park improvements are underway and Phase I is nearing completion. This first phase included the initial fountain work and the section of the park nearest State Street.

Beginning the week of September 18th, 2017 Phase II will begin which includes the section of the park nearest College Street. Phase II of the project will continue the refurbishing of the fountain and surrounding pool which has become unstable; refurbishing of many light poles, water fountains and statues; replacement of sidewalks and decorative pavers that are uneven and showing deterioration; the removal of decaying or diseased trees; and the moving of benches off of the sidewalk in order increase walking capacity.

The entire project has an estimated ending date of November 2017. This iconic location has long served as the heartbeat of Bowling Green and it is important to the City that we ensure this is the case for many future years.

Scott and Murphy management will be on-site prominently, and will welcome any questions downtown businesses and users have throughout the project. In addition, the City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Parks/Golf Maintenance Supervisor, Mike Mitchum, will be the City’s primary contact relating to this project and can be reached at 270-393-3268.
